Lake Placid is located on a ridge that's a little higher than the rest of Florida. The Lake Wales Ridge extends from Lake Wales to slightly south of Lake Placid. This makes for a little different Florida experience. We have a little different weather, and some unique indigenous animals and plants. Come visit! You're welcome any time!
